An important man in the German electronic scenery, Zurich-born instrumentalist and manufacturer Thomas Fehlmann has brought several diverse acts of the Apostles to Germany to record and collaborate. Beginning in the former '80s, his group Palais Schaumburg amalgamated dance rhythms to the experimentalist flare of '70s German rock. A Detroit-Berlin cultural exchange through the Tresor label originally brought Underground Resistance to Germany, and Fehlmann did his piece by recording singly with Blake Baxter, Eddie Flashin' Fowlkes, and Juan Atkins (as 3MB). A longtime association with another electronica mental institution, the Orb, gave him a chance to criminal record and produce the grouping in Berlin. While managing the band Fisherman's Friend, he positive deuce of the members to shape Sun Electric and produced their Kitchen album.
Though he continued recording throughout the late '90s, his profile elevated significantly when he joined Cologne's Kompakt roster, at in one case becoming the label's senior national leader and unitary of its to the highest degree logical artists. Two albums -- 2002's Visions of Blah and 2007's Honigpumpe -- compiled material from Kompakt 12" releases patch adding new tracks. He helped resurrect the Orb, wHO likewise linked up with Kompakt, co-producing a number of singles and the full-lengths Bicycles & Tricycles (2004) and Okie Dokie It's the Orb on Kompakt (2005). As piece of Gudrun Gut's Ocean Club, he reinforced up his repute as a DJ and aided in the Berlin troupe's diverse wireless evince.

Ellen DeGeneres planning dream wedding but not revealing details
LOS ANGELES - Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have set a wedding date, and to hear the talk show host tell it, the ceremony is going to be a doozy.
DeGeneres, who won her fourth consecutive Daytime Emmy for talk show host Friday night, told reporters backstage at the Kodak Theatre that she and de Rossi are planning their "dream wedding."
"Yes, we have set a wedding date," said DeGeneres. "How do I feel about it? I obviously feel like it's long overdue. I think someday people will look back on this like women not having the right to vote and segregation and anything else that seems ridiculous that we don't all have the same rights."
While the day is on the calendar, DeGeneres didn't say when or where it would take place.
DeGeneres said she plans to fly the de Rossi family in from Australia and that "incredible people" would sing at the ceremony. She said she would show "a tiny bit" of the nuptials on her talk show - and joked that she would use her latest Daytime Emmy as a wedding-cake topper.
"Planning a wedding is very stressful," said DeGeneres. "It's crazy. My gardener is now invited."

Jorja Fox - Fox Back For More Csi
Actress JORJA FOX is heading back to top TV drama CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION just months after quitting the show.
The star, who plays Sara Sidle on the hit series, walked away from the show last autumn (07) - but she is now set to return for the third episode of the upcoming series.
Confirming the news to America's TV Guide magazine, Fox says, "The kindest thing that the writers did for Sara Sidle was to walk her out (of the show) in one piece.
"I had an amazing, beautiful, honourable, dignified exit."
And she's thrilled she'll be back among her castmates: "I miss the people. When I left in October, it was so decisive - everybody got me a good-bye cake.
"(But) it's a surprise for me to be back, especially this soon."

Kaiser Chiefs Back Out Of Potential Oasis And Keane Chart Battle
Kaiser Chiefs have delayed the release of their third album in order to avoid a potential chart battle with Oasis and Keane, it's been reported.
All three bands are scheduled to release their as-yet-untitled new records in October.
Although release dates are yet to be confirmed, it's been claimed that Kaiser Chiefs will release their new album after Oasis but before Keane to ensure that it has a chance of clinching the top spot.
Kaiser Chiefs are working with producer Mark Ronson on the album and have already confirmed that Lily Allen has recorded vocals for one song.
"October is shaping up to be a month of big releases. Not only are the Kaisers and Oasis scheduling new albums for that month, but Keane are too,” a source told the Sun newspaper.
"It’s going to be a titanic struggle at the top of the charts and the Kaisers want to get to Number one.
"They think the best way of ensuring that does happen is to release after Oasis and before Keane."
Kaiser Chiefs decision comes less than a month after frontman Ricky Wilson claimed that his band were the natural successors to Oasis.
As Gigwise reported earlier, Oasis have today announced three new tour dates. Click here for information.

‘Cavemen’ Star Nick Kroll Is in Just As Much Denial As We Are
"Right now I’m just waiting to hear about when we’re gonna start shooting Cavemen again. Seems like kind of a long break but I think we’re gonna come back really strong. Season 2 should be a pretty big deal." —Cavemen's Nick Kroll [Best Week Ever]
"I remember hearing Kermit sing and then finding out that that was actually a real person singing. That kind of blew my mind." —Jim James on his early musical influences [NYT]
"After the broadcast, people at E! told me Team Fanning was furious. To me there's something hilarious about a 10-year-old girl having that much power. Hilarious to the point where I got fired." —Kathy Griffin on making a joke about Dakota Fanning at the 2005 Golden Globes [NYT]
"Lyrically and as being an artist, I have nothing to prove. Me and Dre have done everything there is to do. We've won the Super Bowl of music." —Big Boi [MTV]
"One of the things about Barbara Feldon is she has a certain ineffable quality. You either have that or you don't, and I leave it up to the audience to decide whether I do." —Anne Hathaway is unsure about how ineffable she is [NYDN]
During Rush hour, there's no slowdown
Sunday’s concert was partly a visit to familiar territory: It’s officially a continuation of last summer’s tour, so the set list and staging were essentially the same (two filmed song intros again from Bob and Doug MacKenzie and the “South Park” kids). As always, the show was epic in length (nearly three hours). And a Rush audience is still at least 70 percent male, many of them expert air-drummers: Aping Neil Peart’s tom-tom fills on “Tom Sawyer” has become a communal ritual.
Still, it was a slightly different kind of Rush tour, tilted to the band’s more cerebral side. The current “Snakes & Arrows” is one of Rush’s most nuanced albums, with moody layers of melody and textured arrangements, including Lifeson’s first-ever mandolin solo. While most veteran bands avoid playing new material, Rush did nine songs from the album, including five in a row to start the second set. And they dug up older songs (such as buried album tracks “Between the Wheels” and “Witch Hunt”) that suited the new material’s direction.
“Snakes & Arrows” is a strong disc, but it’s one that takes a few listens to fully get, which is why an encore tour made sense. The band seemed looser and more comfortable with the new songs this time around. Stone-faced drummer Peart seemed especially limber compared to last summer’s show. And Rush gave the set list a couple of tweaks, swapping some of last year’s deeper tracks for more obvious crowd pleasers (“Circumstances” and “Entre Nous” are out; “Red Barchetta” and “2112 Overture” are in). That made the show less geek-friendly, but it made for a more balanced set. It also allowed for a rousing end-of-show blowout, with the “2112” section played between dependable barnstormers “The Spirit of Radio” and “Tom Sawyer.”
Variations aside it was still Rush, with the usual complexity and oddball humor. In a neatvisual pun, there was a chickenrotisserie onstage where you’d expect to see a wall of amps. There aren’t a whole lot of veteran arena bands who work this hard or deliver as much.
RUSH aComcast Center, Mansfield, Sunday night.
